The triquetra is a tripartite symbol composed of three interlocked vesica Pisces, marking the intersection of three circles. When we study the ancient practice of sacred geometry with compass and straight edge, we find a lot of the ancient symbols which are carved into stone on the island of Ireland and abroad revealed through basic geometry practice.
Many interpretations exist as to meaning which has been overlayed down through the ages on these symbols. The symbol is depicted in many ancient manuscripts and through Celtic visionary Art. Some say it represents the mind, body and spirit element or soul, or the sun moon and vault of the heavens, or the Holy trinity.
