Phases of the Moon Copper & sterling silver Bangle

When the Moon starts a new cycle in its orbit at new moon, we can plant a few seeds or begin to set intentions for the new month. This is an auspicious time to stop activities and reflect on the transition of the moon phases. We do not need much to stand up and walk out under the night sky to simply look up and observe what is in the night sky.

The 7 stages I have worked with for the bangle and ring are as follows.

  1. New Moon - Waxing Crescent
  2. First Quarter
  3. Waxing Gibbous
  4. Full Moon
  5. Waning Gibbous
  6. Last Quarter
  7. Waning Crescent - to new moon

We can journal throughout the lunar month to take note of our emotional well-being by simply checking in with how we feel and to make a point to go outside and look at the moon to reflect on its orbital nature. When the Moon reaches its fullness, we can reflect on our intentions set out at new moon. As the tides at sea rise and fall so too our bodies which is made up of over 60% water fluctuates sensitivity to Lunar vibrations.

If we simply pay attention to what is happening within and allow the Moon to illuminate, we can work with what is above to navigate our way home.

If you draw down the Moon to the Earth, then a circle through the centre of the Moon will have a circumference equal to the perimeter of an earthly square enclosing the Earth.

The sizes of the Moon and the Earth “square” the circle. The ancients seem to have known about this and hidden it in the definition of the mile.

Copper cookware is the most highly regarded by chefs around the world. Its noted advantages - high heat transfer (the highest of any material used in cooking) plus uniform heating (no hot spots). Bronze is harder than pure iron and far more resistant to corrosion. Bronze is also harder than pure copper, so the Egyptians used it for weapons, Armor, tools and, most famously, sculptures. Copper is man's oldest metal, dating back more than 10,000 years. A copper pendant discovered in what is now northern Iraq goes back to about 8700 B.C.
